We just heard back from Dan Simons at AMPPS with good news: our MB1 manuscript is provisionally accepted! We are very excited to begin what is – to our knowledge – the largest multi-site experimental study in infancy research ever conducted (>70 labs currently signed up)!
Data collection begins on May 1, 2017, and ends on April 30, 2018. The sister bilingual project MB1B has submitted their manuscript as well and it is currently under review. Most of you are probably just starting to set up the study. If so, everything you need should be in the START HERE manual. Remember though, before you start collecting data, you must submit the laboratory questionnaire. This questionnaire serves as your lab’s preregistration. It asks you to document your data collection intentions, your ethics approval, and your procedure, as well as details about your general lab practices related to the study. A few more important procedural notes are below in bullet form. Please read them carefully.
Feel free to ask any questions in the appropriate channel of our Slack messaging board so that others can see the answers. Before you ask, you can also look at our FAQ. If you’re puzzled about something, chances are someone else is as well. So don’t hesitate to reach out.
We will also have two open video conference calls for participating labs to ask questions on Monday 5/15 and Friday 5/26, both at our standard time of 8AM PST / 11 EST / 4 UK / 5 CEST. The first hour of each call will be devoted to MB1 and the second hour will be for discussion of MB1-Bilingual issues.
